Physical Challenge -  Your team has the challenge of putting together a series of 3 large jigsaws.

Challenge 1 You can only place your own piece of the jigsaw. Your team should complete the puzzle as quickly as possible.

Challenge 2 Having completed the first puzzle your team should consider how best to tackle 2 . Again only the owner of the piece must place it.

FEEDBACK/REVIEW
Did you get faster? Did you come up with a 'standard operating procedure'? What features of collaborative work did you feel your group were good at?

Challenge 3 In this challenge your team must choose a 'placer' and a 'communicator'. The placer is the only one who can build the jigsaw and they can only do what the communicator says. The communicator can only repeat the instructions given by the other 8 people in the team.

FEEDBACK/REVIEW
How much more difficult or easier did this make the task? Can you complete a puzzle faster or slower using this method? Why?

Opportunities for ICT?

In your groups design another challenge which you think would help people to realise the importance of good group work.
Your game needs rules (keep these simple! they must all be written clearly on one piece of sugar paper)
It must be suitable for teams of up to 10 players.
The only pieces of equipment your game can use are bean bags, a length of rope and a bucket.

Which of these three qualities do you think your challenge requires the most. How would you help a group doing your challenge to improve? Do you agree with the 'Features of good group work' electronic poster?

Assessment for Learning Students should have the opportunity to show others their game idea and receive oral feedback. Student feedback should focus on meeting the requirements of the challenge
