Superb Facilities

CCHS has some of the best facilities of any school in the country.

Sports Centre Our new sports centre cost £4million and every penny has been well spent. It boasts two sports halls, a gym fitted with the latest weight and aerobic equipment, a dance studio and outside a huge floodlit synthetic pitch, hard court areas for tennis and netball, and cricket nets.

Science Following our designation as a Specialist Science College we have installed state-of-the art science labs with the latest ICT equipment.

Interactive Whiteboards All our classrooms have an interactive whiteboard which are the most up to date technology for teaching and learning. This allows students to share learning objectives and lesson plans, access the school intranet, video, music and to save everyone’s contribution to the lesson on a virtual flipchart.

Discovery Zone In September 2003 we opened our Discovery Zone, a new concept in educational thinking, looking at ways of teaching our students the skills they will need to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. They learn how to learn.

ICT Facilities 

Our ICT facilities are extensive with over 500 computers linked to the Internet with broadband connection.Student 

Social Area

We have a dedicated social area for students. Students spend their free time there and it offers them somewhere warm, dry and comfortable in which to relax during breaks and lunchtimes, supervised by staff.

Learning Resource Centre

 In the LRC students can find the information they need in a variety of forms - through the Internet, by researching from the huge array of books, dictionaries and encyclopaedias, or by using educational videos. Our librarian is on hand to help students find the information they require for their homework and to encourage them to think for themselves.
